Immigration in America is something that we should all love and embrace, because in one form or another, we are all immigrants in this country.  We should continue to revel in the fact that so many people from all over the world want to come to America to work, to life, raise their families, and live and die here because this is the land of the free.  It is going to continue to be the land of the free if all of us collectively ensure our rights as free citizens of this country.  If we continue to revel in the fact that we do have a Bill of Rights that we all should protect and a Constitution that works, but are we flawed?  Are we constantly having our rights beat down?  Yes, we are.  While we still are the greatest country in the world, we should not let immigration become a problem.  We should alter it to where it becomes what it always has been in the past; it creates a big melting pot of America.  It gives us different cultures, different ideas that come into this wonderful land of ours.  We can see over and over again and even today, immigrants coming to America, taking their work ethic from other countries and really doing a fantastic job of integrating themselves into our American culture.  But to give immigrants a free reign, free grants, SBA loans; when I say free I mean help over and above what any other citizen of America may get.  That is wrong.  What we should do is say every American that wants to go out and do and be more and open their own business of whatever type; they have the same opportunity as any immigrant coming in to America.  We all have the same basic playing field.  If you have a great idea, if you able to sell that idea to whatever government agency, whatever private investor, whatever private bank or public bank; you do that on your own merit.  Everything you do is through your own merit; not because you are a woman, not because you are an immigrant, not because you are black, white or Hispanic or whatever.  When you come to America, we are all Americans and the playing field should be even for everybody; no special treatment for any person.  We do, die and achieve by our own character, methods and plans.  With that being said, I’m Kevin Schmidt.  Welcome to my office in Shreveport.  Please visit me at my website www.PrecisionAdv.com  and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Even if you are against smoking, we should not be against the right of small business owners to allow or not allow smoking in their own businesses.  We are already penalizing achievement in America, penalizing people’s decisions on how they do achieve in a legal way.  I, for instance, am standing in from of my humidor, and obviously I am a smoking advocate.  I do not like cigarette smoke, but I don’t think it is my right to tell a restaurant owner, and collectively as a society we should not be able to tell a restaurant owner; Mr. or Mrs. Restaurant Owner I like your food and like your place but because you smoke and or allow smoking in your establishment I am going to collectively have legislation that bans your right to decide what happens in a legal way in your business.  That is not my right to do and it’s not your right to do, but it is happening none the less.  It should stop, unless we just completely outlaw cigarette smoking.  As long as something is a legal product in America, the business owner should have the right to either do it or not do it in their establishment.  I’m sure that is coming, where smoking shall be banned and outlawed because people way it is so bad for you.  Again, that is a personal choice.  If we start going down this road as we are doing now and we don’t turn around and deviate; where will we draw the line?  Will we say, “Mr. Restaurant Owner, It’s too bright in your restaurant or it’s too dim, your colors in here do not match my mood, your food does not meet the qualities of my palette so we are going to change your menu.”  Where does the madness stop?  A Business makes it or doesn’t make it on their own business choices.   So, if smoking is their choice they can do or die by that practice.  You don’t have to go there.  I don’t have to go there.  I like to frequent the very few places left in America where you can enjoy a fine cigar.  I like it.  If the business owner can stay in business with that concept because it is a niche market then good for him, but he should not, however, be penalized and punished for their business practice.   They should not be told that they cannot do that.  That is absolutely absurd and we are infringing and encroaching upon the basic freedoms and tenants that made this country a wonderful and great place to live, work and die, and be a part of the most greatest experiment in human history.  Just because something is offensive to you does not mean it is offensive to everyone.  If you don’t like something, don’t go there.  Do not penalize the people that do smoke, for me, smoke cigars.  We do not have the right to tell business owners what they can do with legal products in their business.  If you like this blog, please join me at out website at www.PrecisionAdv.com  I’m Kevin Schmidt and welcome to my Shreveport Office, and now that you have gotten to see my humidor, I’m about to open it up and enjoy a fine, fine smoke.  In my business I allow smoking, because it is my right and my employee’s right.  If you don’t like it, leave.  The rights should be the same with everyone else in America.  Thank you; I appreciate you joining me.

One thing that I have learned from being an entrepreneur for the past 12 years is that one of the most important things that anyone can do; whether you are an entrepreneur or just the average citizen, working and surviving as all of us do every day, is put money back.  Saving money is critical for rainy day funds.  If you lose your job and you need income, put money back.  No matter how difficult it is, especially for business owners.  Things go up and down and up and down, and everyone is seeing that clearly illustrated in the economic times that we live in now.  If God takes 10% and the government takes up to 40%, you should at least pay yourself 10%, if at all possible.  Put as much back and do not touch it except for just the rainy day fund.  You just never know.  Most Americans if they lost their job today do not have enough money to carry them more than 4 weeks.  It’s a sad fact.  Most businesses if they do not continue to get their cash flow, if it were cut off for any reason and they were in the red, do not have enough money to carry them 4-8 weeks and they will be out.  Do everything possible to put money back, because it will help you, your family, your business, everything.  If the churches in America all universally agree, for the most part, that 10% is what you should tithe; you should tithe it to yourself too, because there is nothing more important than taking care of you, your family, and the people that you love.  I promise you will not miss it if you just put a little bit back and forget it’s there.  It’s the best advice that was given to me and I would like to pass it on to you.  It sounds so simple that we just forget and ignore it and think that we cannot do it, but I highly recommend everybody take care of yourself because good times come and bad times come.  We never know when they are going to come, so make sure you are protected to the best of your ability.  I’m Kevin Schmidt and I appreciate you joining me at my blog.  For all of you new people, please join me at www.PrecisionAdv.com Thanks again and see you soon.

Economic tough times, they test who we are, not only individually but also as a nation.  We all have tough times. We have all had our personal tragedies that effect our lives, whether it is financial, in relationships of all types (wife, sister, friend), whatever.  It is all up and all down, all up and all down.  One of the biggest things that we do during the downturn is we learn who we are.  We learn how to pick ourselves back up, dust ourselves off and get after it.  We keep on keeping on.  One of the things we have done here in my office is we found a couple of studies.  I don’t know how well you can see them here, but they just clearly illustrate that companies that focus on advertising during the downturns, at the bottom, they push and push harder to increase their market share; they actually increase their market share exponentially.  This graph just shows that people that advertised during the last big recession in the early 80’s, increased their sales by 375% as they were coming out of the recession, because they marketed so heavily.  Those things are very critical for us to understand as business owners and budding entrepreneurs and just everyday Joes.  The best time to get ready to do better is at the downtime when you are at the bottom.  Look at all of the people that are down, alcoholics, drug abusers, people that are addicts of all types. Once they get at the bottom and realize they are at the bottom, they start planning, a lot of those that have successfully gotten over those things, have planned and achieved and went on to do really great things with their lives.  Same thing with business owners, sales professionals and the like, we plan during the downtime, figure out what the field is, and what obstacles are in the way.  The we go attack, attack, attack, attack.  Then, as the sun starts to open up, rays of sun come through the clouds we realize that we are really winning and we are kicking some butt.  Therefore, it is a good thing that we have downtime or downturns, because we understand that it is during those times, which allows us to grow and outpace the competition.  It is illustrated at every single recession that we have ever been in in America, the companies and people that do the best are the ones that plan, execute, and attack that market share that they want.  So all of the doom and gloom out there, of course there is a lot of pain in the country right now, but it is a lot of positives inside of that.  Just as the Chinese proverb says their word for crisis has a duel meaning, one being opportunity.  That is exactly what is happening right now in America and around the globe.  In the midst of crisis, we have mass amounts of opportunity.  It opens up the doors for a lot of people to explore different ways of making money, whether they want to go out and be budding entrepreneurs and allow business owners to cut a lot of the fat off and really get lean and mean and overcome the markets that they want to conquer.  With that being said, please visit us at our video posts and our blogs at www.PrecisionAdv.com www.TitanCommercialLending.com  Thank you, I’m Kevin Schmidt and welcome to my office in Shreveport.
